REFUNDABLE CORE DEPOSIT POLICY
The sales of all hybrid batteries are contingent upon the seller of the hybrid battery receiving the buyer’s old battery or core in return. This applies to hybrid batteries purchased at dealerships, hybrid battery manufacturers like Electron and any reputable company that sells hybrid batteries. The battery exchange in all of these scenarios usually takes place during the installation process. It’s a simultaneous transition of the seller/installer receiving your old battery as they install your new one. Once the new hybrid battery has been installed and the seller has taken possession of your old battery, the conditions for both parties will have been satisfied thus eliminating any need for a refundable core deposit.
REFUNDABLE CORE DEPOSITS ARE ONLY REQUIRED ON HYBRID BATTERY PURCHASES THAT ARE SHIPPED DIRECTLY TO CUSTOMERS.
Shipping a hybrid battery directly to a customer does not negate the customer’s responsibility to ship their old hybrid battery back to the seller. With no simultaneous swapping of batteries, a refundable core deposit ensures that the buyer will return their old battery in a timely manner. Refundable core deposits vary from company to company, but most core deposits are equivalent to the value of the customers old hybrid battery. Refundable core deposits are collected upfront at the time of purchase and are 100% refundable as long as customers return their old batteries/cores to the seller within 30 days of purchase.
YOUR OLD HYBRID BATTERY HAS VALUE TO US
The cells in your old battery may not function properly as a unit, but most of the other parts such as the casing and fans etc. may be in excellent condition and can be reused to build high performance batteries for other hybrid owners. Reusing hybrid battery components, or anything else for that matter, is also the right thing to do for our environment. Reusing components that are in good working order eliminates the fuel, energy and pollution that it would take to manufacture new parts and reusing doesn’t add to the growing landfill problem that we’re currently facing. It also allows us to keep our manufacturing costs down and those savings are passed on to our customers.
REFUNDABLE CORE DEPOSIT POLICY
As is the case with refundable deposits in all industries, the core deposit will be added to your credit card at the time of purchase and refunded when your old battery is received by Electron, usually within 2-3 business days of receipt.
Your old core/battery must be received by Electron within 30 days of purchase in order to receive your full deposit back. If your old battery/core is not returned to Electron within 30 days of purchase, the full amount of your core deposit will become non-refundable. Should extenuating circumstances prevent you from returning your battery in a timely manner, please contact us at 800-804-2003 or email us at email@example.com a minimum of 72 hours before the 30 day expiration period is up. You can request an extension of up to 5 days maximum. Extensions are handled on a case by case basis and the right to grant such an extension is at the sole discretion of Electron Hybrid Solutions.
